What it is and how it works

Your consultation is where every lines and wrinkles plan begins. A medically training clinician will assess our lines at rest and in movement, your skin quality and your facial anatomy. From there, they recommend the approach most likely to help. That may be preventative care for early lines, softening established ones, skin-quality treatment, skincare, or a combination approach.

What it may help with

  • All assessments by medical clinician
  • A plan tailored to your lines, skin and goals
  • Options for early lines as well as established ones
  • Honest advice, including when treatment isn’t needed
  • No obligation to proceed

Suitable for

Anyone bothered by face or neck lines. That includes people noticing early lines who want to stay ahead of them, and those with deeper lines who would like a softer rested look.

Areas treated

• Frown lines (lines between the brows)
• Forehead lines
• Crow’s feet (lines around the outer eye area)
• Bunny lines (nose wrinkling)
• Chin dimpling
• Brow lift
• Jaw slimming
• Neck Bands
• Other expression lines, assessed individually at consultation

What happens on the day

We start with your concerns and what you’d like to change, then review your medical history and any medications. Your clinician examines your face at rest and in expression, and may take photos for your records with your consent. They then explain your options, the expected results, risks and costs, so you can decide in your own time.

Downtime and Aftercare

Downtime depends on the treatment selected following consultation. If a procedure is recommended, its expected recovery, common temporary effects, aftercare and relevant warning symptoms will be discussed before you decide whether to proceed. However, in general, the treatment is quick with minimal downtime.

Risks and side effects

Risks vary between treatment options and will be discussed in relation to the specific treatment being considered. Where a prescription-only medicine is considered, the clinician will discuss relevant contraindications, common and important adverse effects, expected duration, limitations and alternatives as part of the prescribing and consent process. Treatment is offered only when considered clinically appropriate for the individual patient. Prescription injections are generally safe when done by a trained expert, but they can cause mild local pain, bruising, headaches, temporary muscle drooping, or rare systemic toxin spread causing breathing or swallowing difficulties.

Contraindications

Suitability depends on the option being considered and your individual medical history. Some treatments may be unsuitable or need to be postponed because of pregnancy or breastfeeding, infection or inflammation in the treatment area, certain medical conditions, medicines, allergies or previous treatment complications. A clinical assessment is therefore required before any prescription-only option can be considered.

Concerns this treatment may help

  • Lines and Wrinkles

  • Tired eyes, thinning lips or crepey neck

  • Asymmetry and Imbalance

Frequently Asked Questions

Botulinum toxin type A acts at cholinergic nerve endings and temporarily inhibits release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. At a molecular level it cleaves SNAP-25, a protein involved in release of acetylcholine-containing vesicles. This reduces signalling to the targeted muscle and temporarily reduces its activity. Any use requires individual assessment and prescription, and the specific licensed indications and product information depend on the medicine selected.

Yes. Where a prescription-only medicine might be considered, an individual clinical assessment is required to establish whether it is appropriate for you. The consultation also provides an opportunity to discuss alternatives, expected outcomes, risks and reasons why treatment may not be suitable.

This depends on the treatment selected and individual factors. Once an appropriate option has been identified, we will explain the expected onset, duration and maintenance considerations relevant to that treatment before you decide whether to proceed.
