Concerns
Face that looks tired, flat or sagging
Cheeks losing lift, hollow temples or a softer jawline? These changes usually come from lost support and volume, and there are ways to restore it.
What you might be noticing
You look tired even after a good night’s sleep. Cheeks look flatter, temples a little sunken, and the jawlines sagging.
Deeper lines may appear from nose to mouth or mouth to chin.
You look in the mirror and notice things are shifting and you look tired and stressed even when you are feeling fine.
Why it happens
Your face ages in layers, not just the skin. From your 30’s, bone in cheeks, jaw and eye sockets slowly reshapes Fat pads shrink and slip downwards.
With less scaffolding underneath, skin drapes rather than sits.
Weight loss, endurance sport and genetics can make this happen earlier or faster.
How we assess it
Every treatment plan at Palmeira Clinic in Brighton and Hove starts with a consultation with our medical team, in three steps:
Your concerns and goals
We listen to what’s bothering you and what you’d like to achieve.
A thorough assessment
We review you medical history and examine your skin and features to understand the cause.
Honest advice
We explain what may help, what won’t, and any risks, so you can decide without pressure.
Treatments we may discuss
Depending on your assessment, your clinician may talk you through one or more of the options below. Not every option suits everyone, and we’ll only recommend treatment where we think it’s appropriate.
What you can do at home
- Protect collagen with daily SPF and nightly retinol where appropriate.
- Eat enough protein and stay well hydrated.
- Avoid crash dieting, which can thin facial fat quickly.
- Be wary of devices promising to lift or sculpt. Lost volume cannot be replaced at home.
